NOPE Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NOPE protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NOPE antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NOPE, or neighbor of punc E11, is a 1250 amino acid transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and embryonic differentiation, sharing significant structural similarities with the putative neuronal cell adhesion molecule Punc. Both proteins belong to the immunoglobulin superfamily, which includes important receptors like Deleted in Colorectal Cancer (DCC), known for involvement in embryonic development. NOPE contains five fibronectin type-III repeats and four Ig-like C2-type repeats, which are essential for mediating interactions between cells during development. The distinct cytoplasmic domains of NOPE and Punc, despite highly homologous extracellular regions, suggest unique signaling pathways and functional roles in cellular processes. NOPE is expressed during critical stages of embryonic development, particularly in the notochord, skeletal muscle, and the ventricular zone of the nervous system, and continues to be present in the hippocampus of the adult brain, highlighting importance in both development and potential roles in adult neurobiology.
