NOD1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NOD1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NOD1 (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NOD1 plays a crucial role in the innate immune response by recognizing specific bacterial peptidoglycans, which is essential for initiating a proper immune reaction to infections. Structurally, NOD1 contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD) and a nucleotide-binding domain, which are vital for function in signaling pathways that activate nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFkB). This activation leads to the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby enhancing the immune response. Additionally, NOD1 interacts with the CARD-containing kinase RICK, facilitating the recruitment of downstream signaling molecules and promoting apoptosis through the activation of caspase-9. NOD1′s ability to self-associate is significant as this brings RICK into proximity, enhancing the efficiency of the signaling cascade.
