NO66 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NO66 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NO66 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NO66 protein, also known as nucleolar protein 66 kDa or C14orf169, is a 641 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the synthesis, processing, and assembly of ribosomal RNAs with ribosomal proteins within the nucleolus, an essential component of the nucleus. NO66 protein is localized to nucleoplasmic foci and specifically to a granular region of the nucleolus, indicating involvement in the remodeling of heterochromatic regions and the synthesis of the large ribosomal subunit, which is vital for ribosome biogenesis and cellular replication processes. NO66 contains a JmjC domain, two putative nuclear localization signals, and several potential phosphorylation sites, highlighting complex regulatory mechanisms. Immunohistochemical studies have shown that NO66 exhibits distinct localization patterns in different cell lines, suggesting functional versatility. Additionally, homologs of NO66 have been identified across various species, indicating evolutionary conservation and potential significance in cellular functions.
