NMDAζ1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NMDA zeta 1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NMDAζ1 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NMDA zeta 1 protein, also known as glutamate ionotropic receptor NMDA type subunit 1, plays a crucial role in mediating excitatory neurotransmission in the brain, which is essential for processes such as learning, memory, and synaptic plasticity. NMDA zeta 1 is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where NMDA zeta 1 forms part of the NMDA receptor complex, allowing for calcium ion influx in response to glutamate binding. The unique structure of NMDA receptors, which includes a high permeability to calcium ions, is vital for their function in synaptic signaling and plasticity, as calcium influx activates various intracellular signaling pathways that influence neuronal function and survival. Understanding NMDA receptors in synaptic transmission and their involvement in neurodegenerative diseases highlights the significance of anti-NMDA zeta 1 antibody (E-2) in research aimed at unraveling the complexities of brain function and potential therapeutic targets.
