NF-E2 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa antibody that detects NF-E2 p45 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NF-E2 (D-6) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile use in various experimental setups. NF-E2 p45 plays a crucial role as a nuclear DNA binding protein that regulates globulin gene expression during erythroid cell development, which is vital for proper red blood cell formation and function. NF-E2 p45 binds to a site that includes an intact AP-1 binding motif, essential for globin gene transcriptional activation. NF-E2 p45 functions as an obligate heterodimer with NF-E2 p18, a ubiquitously expressed component related to the v-Maf oncogene. NF-E2 p18 contains a basic-leucine zipper domain important for both DNA binding and dimerization, and may contribute to erythroid differentiation. NF-E2 p45, a member of the basic region-leucine zipper family of transcription factors, is expressed at low levels in hematopoietic progenitor cells as well as in differentiated erythroid, megakaryocyte, and mast cell lineages, highlighting its significance in hematopoiesis and cellular differentiation.
