Neuroligin 3 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects neuroligin 3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Neuroligin 3 is a crucial member of the neuroligin family, which is integral to the formation and remodeling of synapses in the central nervous system. Neuroligin 3 is primarily located in the plasma membrane of excitatory neurons, where neuroligin 3 plays a vital role in synaptic transmission by interacting with β-neurexins and other synaptic proteins. The binding of neuroligin 3 to β-neurexin 1β, which requires calcium ions, is essential for the stabilization of synaptic connections, thereby influencing neuronal communication and plasticity. Additionally, neuroligin 3 interacts with scaffolding proteins such as PSD-95, which is important for recruiting ion channels and neurotransmitter receptors to the synapse, ultimately affecting synaptic strength and efficacy. The ability of neuroligin 3 to mediate these interactions underscores neuroligin 3′s significance in synaptic function and potential implications in neurodevelopmental disorders.
