NDUFV2 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NDUFV2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDUFV2 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NDUFV2 protein, also known as NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] flavoprotein 2, is a crucial component of mitochondrial complex I, which is located in the mitochondrial inner membrane. This complex plays a vital role in the electron transport chain of oxidative phosphorylation, where NDUFV2 catalyzes the oxidation of NADH produced in the Krebs cycle, reducing ubiquinone to ubiquinol and facilitating the transfer of electrons through the chain, ultimately leading to the reduction of oxygen to water. NDUFV2′s structure, comprising 249 amino acids, is essential for the catalytic activity of complex I, and any defects in NDUFV2 can result in significant clinical implications, including various myopathies and neuropathies. Research has indicated that genetic polymorphisms in the NDUFV2 gene may contribute to the risk of developing bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, highlighting NDUFV2′s importance in both cellular function and potential psychiatric conditions.
