NDUFS2 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NDUFS2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NDUFS2 antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NDUFS2, or NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur protein 2, is a crucial subunit of mitochondrial complex I, which is located in the mitochondrial inner membrane and plays a vital role in the electron transport chain of oxidative phosphorylation. This complex is responsible for the initial step of cellular respiration, where NDUFS2 oxidizes NADH produced in the Krebs cycle, transferring electrons to ubiquinone and ultimately facilitating the reduction of oxygen to water. The structure of NDUFS2, comprising 463 amino acids, is essential for catalytic activity, and defects in NDUFS2 can lead to severe clinical manifestations, including complex I mitochondrial respiratory chain deficiency, which is associated with conditions such as liver failure, cardiomyopathy, and neurodegeneration. The significance of NDUFS2 in maintaining mitochondrial function underscores NDUFS2′s relevance in both basic research and clinical diagnostics, making NDUFS2 (B-3) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for studying mitochondrial disorders and related pathologies.

Can NDUFS2 (B-3): sc-390596 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, NDUFS2 (B-3): sc-390596 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
