SEE ALSO...

N-Myc Antibody (2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects N-Myc p67 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF) applications. Anti-N-Myc antibody (2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. N-Myc, a member of the Myc family of oncogenes, plays a crucial role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, making N-Myc a significant factor in cancer biology. N-Myc amplification is particularly relevant in neuroblastomas, where N-Myc has been shown to correlate with disease progression, highlighting N-Myc′s potential as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis. Structurally, N-Myc is a nuclear phosphoprotein that undergoes rapid degradation, with a half-life of approximately 30 minutes in vivo, which is essential for regulating N-Myc activity and preventing uncontrolled cell growth. N-Myc′s ability to bind DNA in a sequence-specific manner, following dimerization with the Max protein, underscores N-Myc′s importance in transcriptional regulation and oncogenic processes.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with N-Myc (2): sc-142 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend CCRF-HSB-2 (sc-2265), H4 (sc-2408), HuT 78 (sc-2208), BJAB (sc-2207) or Ramos (sc-2216) whole cell lysates to use as positive controls as we have Western blot data showing specific detection of N-Myc in these cell lines.
