SEE ALSO...

Mx2 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Mx2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mx2 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mx2, also known as MxB, is a cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in regulating the efficiency and kinetics of nuclear import, a function particularly important for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to viral infections. Unlike Mx1, which is induced by interferon and exhibits significant resistance to influenza A virus and vesicular stomatitis virus, Mx2 expression is not dependent on interferon signaling, suggesting a distinct regulatory role in cellular processes. Mx2 is localized at the cytoplasmic face of nuclear pores, where Mx2 may influence the transport of proteins and other molecules into the nucleus, thereby impacting various cellular functions and responses to stress. These unique properties of Mx2 make this protein a valuable target for research into viral pathogenesis and cellular transport mechanisms, providing insights that could lead to novel therapeutic strategies.
