SEE ALSO...

MuRF2 Antibody (1A1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MuRF2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MuRF2 antibody (1A1) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. MuRF2 protein, also known as Tripartite motif containing 55, plays a crucial role in muscle physiology by regulating gene expression and protein turnover, which is essential for maintaining muscle integrity and function. MuRF2 protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm of muscle cells, but under conditions of muscle atrophy, translocates to the nucleus, highlighting a dynamic role in cellular signaling and adaptation. MuRF2 is part of a specific class of RING finger proteins expressed in striated muscle tissues, which also includes MuRF1 and MuRF3. These proteins contain a conserved N-terminal RING domain and a zinc-binding B-box motif, along with two coiled-coil motifs that facilitate protein-protein interactions. MuRF2 can oligomerize with other proteins such as titin and myosin during sarcomere assembly, and associates with the sarcomeric M-band in cardiomyocytes, underscoring its importance in muscle structure and function. At least four isoforms of MuRF2 exist, each potentially contributing to diverse regulatory roles in muscle cells.
