SEE ALSO...

mucolipin 1 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects mucolipin 1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-mucolipin 1 antibody (F-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The gene encoding human mucolipin 1 is located on chromosome 19p13.3-p13.2, and mutations in this gene are linked to mucolipidosis type IV (MLIV), a rare autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder characterized by psychomotor retardation, retinal degeneration, corneal opacities, and strabismus. Mucolipin 1 is primarily localized to the plasma membrane and features six transmembrane domains, which are crucial for function as a cation channel. The structure of mucolipin 1 allows regulation of permeability to calcium, sodium, and potassium ions, with intracellular calcium concentration playing a significant role in activity. This regulation is vital for lysosomal exocytosis and the trafficking of late endosomes and lysosomes, highlighting the importance of mucolipin 1 in cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways.
