MTUS1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MTUS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTUS1 (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTUS1 protein, also known as mitochondrial tumor suppressor 1 or ATIP (angiotensin-II type 2 receptor-interacting protein), plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and tumor suppression, with highest expression found in brain tissues. Notably, MTUS1 is involved in regulating angiotensin-II type 2 receptor (AT2), where MTUS1 interacts with AT2′s C-terminal tail to inhibit growth factor-induced extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2 activation and subsequent cell proliferation. This interaction maintains cellular homeostasis and prevents uncontrolled cell growth, which can lead to conditions such as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). MTUS1 exhibits a predominantly hydrophilic nature, characterized by a large coiled-coil domain and two leucine zipper motifs, which are essential for structural integrity and functional interactions. Additionally, MTUS1 is produced in five transcript variants through alternative splicing, each with distinct cellular localizations and potential roles in various cellular processes, further underscoring MTUS1′s importance in health and disease.
