MTH1 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MTH1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTH1 (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTH1, also known as NUDT1 (nudix (nucleoside diphosphate linked moiety X)-type motif 1), is a 179 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that belongs to the nudix hydrolase family and plays a crucial role in maintaining genomic integrity. MTH1 is highly expressed in the testis, thymus, and proliferating blood lymphocytes, functioning as an antimutagenic enzyme that hydrolyzes oxidized purine nucleoside triphosphates into their corresponding monophosphates. This enzymatic activity prevents the misincorporation of guanosine triphosphate into DNA, thereby averting A:T to C:G transversions, which can lead to mutations. MTH1′s cytoplasmic localization enables effective sanitization of nucleotide pools for both mitochondrial and nuclear genomes, ensuring the fidelity of DNA replication and repair processes. Four isoforms of MTH1 exist, with three arising from alternative splicing and one from a single-nucleotide polymorphism, highlighting the complexity of regulation. MTH1 overexpression has been implicated in the development of prostate and lung carcinomas, making MTH1 a potential target for therapeutic intervention.
