SEE ALSO...

MTA1 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MTA1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTA1 monoclonal antibody (E-12) is specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 669-703 near the C-terminus of MTA1 of human origin. Anti-MTA1 antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTA1, known as metastasis-associated protein 1, plays a crucial role as a component of the NURD (nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation) complex, essential for ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling and histone deacetylase activity. Anti-MTA1 antibody (E-12) function in mediating transcriptional repression is vital for regulating gene expression, facilitating recruitment of repressor molecules to chromatin, thereby influencing cellular processes such as differentiation and proliferation. Structurally, MTA1 features a single SH3-binding motif and a zinc finger domain, along with a region homologous to the co-repressor protein N-Cor, contributing to functional versatility. MTA1 is typically expressed at low levels across various tissues, with significant elevation in testis and correlation with tumor invasion and metastasis in several carcinomas, including colorectal, gastrointestinal, and breast cancers. MTA1 overexpression in tumors is associated with enhanced lymph node metastasis, increased motility of mammary cells, and augmented tumor growth, making MTA1 a potential biomarker for assessing malignancy in various cancers. MTA1 shares over 55% sequence homology with MTA2 (MTA1-like protein 1), which is ubiquitously expressed and may also play a role in cancer progression.

Hi,  I was wondering if you distinguish between "ChIP-grade" and "IP-grade" for monoclonal antibodies? Many thanks, LR.

Asked by: LR96
Thank you for your question. MTA1 Antibody (E-12): sc-373765 can also be supplied as TransCruz reagent sc-373765. This version is supplied as 200 µg in 0.1 ml PBS with no gelatin and is recommended for ChIP applications. Please contact technical service for a quote and additional information.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-373765 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
