MRP1 Antibody (IU2H10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). MRP1 Antibody (IU2H10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP1, a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, plays a crucial role in the cellular efflux of a wide range of substrates, including drugs and endogenous compounds, thereby contributing to multidrug resistance in cancer cells. MRP1 localization as an integral membrane protein is vital, as MRP1 is predominantly expressed in various tissues such as the brain, lungs, testis, and peripheral blood, where MRP1 helps regulate the transport of organic anions and xenobiotics. The structure of MRP1 includes an Mdr-like core and a unique N-terminal membrane-bound region, which are essential for MRP1 function in mediating the transport of conjugated drugs and metabolites across cellular membranes. Understanding the structural features of MRP1 is important for developing strategies to overcome drug resistance in cancer therapy, as alterations in MRP1 expression or function can significantly impact the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents.

Can MRP1 (IU2H10): sc-53130 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, MRP1 (IU2H10): sc-53130 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
