MRP-L50 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MRP-L50 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-L50, or mitochondrial ribosomal protein L50, is a crucial 158 amino acid protein that plays a vital role in mitochondrial protein synthesis as a component of the large 39S ribosomal subunit. MRP-L50′s localization within the mitochondrion directly influences the efficiency of mitochondrial translation, which is essential for producing proteins critical for cellular respiration and energy production. The gene encoding MRP-L50 is located on human chromosome 9, a region containing over 900 genes and associated with various genetic disorders such as hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia.
