SEE ALSO...

MYL12A/B Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the myosin regulatory light chains encoded by MYL12A and MYL12B of human origin, Mylc2b of mouse origin, and Mrlcb of rat origin, demonstrating reactivity across mouse, rat, and human species through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MYL12A/B (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Myosin regulatory light chains, including MYL12A (also known as MRLC3 or MLCB) and MYL12B (also known as MRLC2), play a crucial role in muscle contraction and cellular motility by regulating the interaction between myosin and actin filaments. These light chains undergo phosphorylation by myosin light chain kinase (MLCK) in the presence of calcium and calmodulin, which enhances the actin-activated myosin ATPase activity, thereby modulating contractile activity in smooth muscle and non-muscle cells. The phosphorylation state of these light chains is vital for proper muscle function, as phosphorylation directly influences the contractile force generated during muscle contraction. Additionally, myosin light chains are also present in striated skeletal muscle, where specific roles are still being elucidated, highlighting the value of anti-MYL12A/B antibody (A-10) in studying muscle physiology and related disorders.
