MR1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MR1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MR1 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MR1, also known as major histocompatibility complex, class I-related or HLALS, is a 341 amino acid single-pass membrane protein primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and extracellular side of cell membrane, featuring one immunoglobulin-like C1-type domain. MR1 is crucial for antigen presentation, particularly in the development and expansion of mucosal-associated invariant T cells (MAITs), which are predominantly found in the gut and play a vital role in monitoring microbial flora and relaying distress signals throughout the body. MR1 interaction with β-2-Microglobulin forms a heterodimer essential for proper functioning of MAITs, thereby linking MR1 to critical processes in digestion and immune response. Additionally, MR1 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 1 and exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms, highlighting its complexity and significance in immune regulation.
