MOF Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MOF in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MOF, also known as hMOF, MYST1, or MOZ, plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation by functioning as a histone acetyltransferase, essential for dosage compensation in organisms like Drosophila. MOF is primarily located in the nucleus, where MOF interacts with chromatin to modify histones, particularly acetylating histone H4 at lysine 16. This modification facilitates dosage compensation complex recruitment, enhancing transcription levels of the male X chromosome to ensure equal expression of X-linked genes between males and females. MOF′s unique structure, characterized by a C2HC-type zinc finger near its histone acetyltransferase domain, allows effective binding to nucleosomes and histone tails, critical for enzymatic activity and overall function in gene regulation. Through interactions with other proteins in the MYST family, MOF is integral to maintaining proper gene expression and cellular function, making anti-MOF antibody (G-12) an essential tool for researchers studying epigenetic regulation and chromatin dynamics.
