MOAP1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MOAP1 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MOAP1 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MOAP1, or modulator of apoptosis 1, is a critical 352 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene MOAP1, belonging to the PNMA family. MOAP1 features a BH3-like domain and a RASSF1-binding domain, which are essential for mediating death receptor-dependent apoptosis. MOAP1 interacts with RASSF1, facilitating a conformational change in Bax, leading to Bax translocation to mitochondrial membranes in response to tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and TNFSF10 stimulation. Under normal conditions, MOAP1 exists as a homo-dimer in an inactive conformation due to intramolecular interactions; however, binding to RASSF1 isoform A (RASSF1A) relieves this inhibition, allowing MOAP1 to engage with Bax and promote apoptosis. MOAP1 can also bind to anti-apoptotic proteins such as Bcl-2 and Bcl-x, further underscoring MOAP1′s pivotal role in the regulation of apoptosis and cellular homeostasis.
