MOAP1 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MOAP1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MOAP1 (A-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MOAP1, or modulator of apoptosis 1, is a critical 352 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene MOAP1, belonging to the PNMA family. MOAP1 features one BH3-like domain and one RASSF1-binding domain, which are essential for mediating death receptor-dependent apoptosis. MOAP1 interacts with RASSF1, facilitating a conformational change in Bax, leading to its translocation to mitochondrial membranes in response to tumor necrosis factor and TNFSF10 stimulation. This process promotes cell death in response to cellular stress or damage. Under normal conditions, MOAP1 exists as a homo-dimer in an inactive conformation, but binding to RASSF1 isoform A relieves this inhibition, allowing MOAP1 to engage with Bax and further interact with anti-apoptotic proteins such as Bcl-2 and Bcl-x, thus playing a pivotal role in the regulation of apoptosis and cellular homeostasis.
