SEE ALSO...

MKX Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MKX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MKX (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MKX protein, also known as Homeobox protein Mohawk, is a 352 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role as a morphogenetic regulator of cell adhesion, influencing the development and maintenance of various tissues. MKX belongs to the TALE/IRO homeobox family and features a homeobox DNA-binding domain, which is essential for its function in regulating gene expression during embryonic development. MKX is located on human chromosome 10, a region that contains over 1,200 genes and represents nearly 4.5% of the human genome. Notably, mutations in genes on chromosome 10 have been linked to several genetic disorders, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and Jackson-Weiss syndrome, highlighting MKX′s importance in developmental biology and potential implications in disease mechanisms.
