    SEE ALSO...

MKP-4 Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MKP-4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MKP-4 (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MKP-4, a member of the dual specificity phosphatase family, plays a crucial role in regulating mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase signaling pathways, which are essential for cellular responses to growth factors and stress signals. By selectively dephosphorylating critical phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues within MAP kinases, MKP-4 serves as a negative regulator of the ERK family of MAP kinases, thereby influencing various physiological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. MKP-4 expression occurs primarily in the placenta, kidney, and fetal liver, highlighting its importance in developmental and tissue-specific functions. Additionally, MKP-4 interacts with other members of the dual-specificity phosphatase family, including MKP-1 and MKP-2, which further underscores its role in modulating MAP kinase activity and maintaining cellular homeostasis.

Can MKP-4 (D-3): sc-137010 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, MKP-4 (D-3): sc-137010 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
