MIPP Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MIPP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MIPP monoclonal antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MIPP, or multiple inositol polyphosphate phosphatase, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by hydrolyzing inositol polyphosphates, which are important second messengers in various biological processes. MIPP is primarily located in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum, where MIPP is involved in regulating inositol phosphate levels, thus influencing pathways related to cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. MIPP′s presence in these cellular compartments underscores MIPP′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to extracellular signals. MIPP is mapped to a region of chromosome 10 that is frequently mutated in human cancers, highlighting MIPP′s potential role in tumorigenesis. Originally isolated from rat liver, MIPP is also highly expressed in rat kidney, and MIPP′s evolutionary conservation across species, including mouse, chick, and fruit fly, suggests a fundamental role in cellular function throughout higher eukaryotes.
