MIP-1α Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MIP-1α in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MIP-1α, a member of the C-C chemokine subfamily, plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a potent chemoattractant for various immune cells, particularly CD4+ T lymphocytes. MIP-1α is primarily secreted by activated macrophages and T cells, and MIP-1α′s ability to attract immune cells to sites of inflammation is vital for mounting an effective immune response. Notably, MIP-1α has been identified as a significant factor in the control of HIV infection, as MIP-1α is produced by CD8+ T cells and functions as an HIV-suppressive factor, inhibiting the replication of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus in a dose-dependent manner. MIP-1α Antibody (F-8) is essential for researchers studying the mechanisms of immune cell recruitment and the role of chemokines in viral infections, providing valuable insights into potential therapeutic targets for HIV and other inflammatory diseases.
