Mig-6 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Mig-6 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mig-6, also known as Gene 33 or RALT, is a crucial cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role as a feedback inhibitor of the ErbB-2 mitogenic function, thereby suppressing oncogenic activity. Mig-6 binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) upon EGF stimulation, acting as a negative feedback regulator and potentially serving as a tumor suppressor. Additionally, Mig-6 is involved in the transcriptional activation of NFκB by interacting with inhibitor IκB-α, which is vital for cellular responses to chronic stress. Mig-6 expression is notably upregulated during cell growth and in response to various stressors, including diabetic nephropathy and mechanical strain, highlighting a role in cellular adaptation and survival. Mig-6 is predominantly expressed in the liver, placenta, and lung, making anti-Mig-6 antibody (D-4) an essential tool for researchers studying functions and implications in various biological processes and diseases.
