SEE ALSO...

Mig-6 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mig-6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mig-6 Antibody (D-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The mitogen-inducible gene 6 protein (Mig-6), also known as Gene 33 or RALT, is a crucial cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role as a feedback inhibitor of the ErbB-2 mitogenic pathway, thereby suppressing oncogenic activity. Mig-6 is vital for regulating cellular responses to growth factors, as Mig-6 binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) upon stimulation, acting as a negative feedback regulator and potentially functioning as a tumor suppressor. Notably, Mig-6 is involved in the transcriptional activation of NFκB by interacting with inhibitor IκB-α, which is essential for enabling cells to adapt to chronic stress conditions. Mig-6 expression is notably upregulated during cell growth and in response to various stressors, such as diabetic nephropathy and mechanical strain, highlighting Mig-6′s importance in cellular homeostasis. Furthermore, Mig-6 is predominantly expressed in the liver, placenta, and lung, underscoring Mig-6′s diverse physiological roles across different tissues.

Can Mig-6 (D-1): sc-137154 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Mig-6 (D-1): sc-137154 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
