Mig-6 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Mig-6 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mig-6, also known as Gene 33 or RALT, is a crucial cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role in cellular signaling by acting as a feedback inhibitor of the ErbB-2 receptor′s mitogenic functions, thereby suppressing oncogenic activity. Mig-6′s importance lies in regulating the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathway; upon stimulation by epidermal growth factor (EGF), Mig-6 binds to EGFR and serves as a negative feedback regulator, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Additionally, Mig-6 is involved in transcriptional activation of NFκB by interacting with inhibitor IκB-α, allowing cells to adapt to chronic stress conditions. Mig-6 expression is notably upregulated in response to various stressors, including diabetic nephropathy and mechanical strain, and is predominantly found in tissues such as liver, placenta, and lung. With multifaceted roles in cellular regulation and stress response, Mig-6 remains a protein of great interest in cancer research and therapeutic development, making anti-Mig-6 antibody (D-12) an essential tool for researchers studying these pathways.
