MIC2 Antibody (1C3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MIC2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. MIC2, also known as CD99, is a critical T cell surface protein that plays a significant role in lymphocyte aggregation, essential for effective immune responses. MIC2 exists in two forms due to alternative splicing: the major form promotes cellular adhesion, while the truncated form inhibits this process. This balance is crucial as MIC2 regulates the interaction between lymphocytes and other cells through the LFA-1/ICAM-1 pathway, influencing immune cell migration and function. Notably, overexpression of the truncated form of MIC2 can lead to downregulation of LFA-1, resulting in cells that exhibit a Hodgkin′s and Reed-Sternberg (H-RS) phenotype, highlighting MIC2′s importance in maintaining normal cell function and morphology. Anti-MIC2 antibody (1C3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying lymphocyte behavior and the underlying mechanisms of immune regulation.
