SEE ALSO...

MIA3 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MIA3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MIA3 Antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MIA3, also known as melanoma inhibitory activity family, member 3, ARNT, or TANGO, is a 1,907 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Such localization is crucial as MIA3 plays a significant role in collagen type VII (COL7A1) secretion and cargo loading at ER exit sites, essential processes for maintaining cellular homeostasis and proper extracellular matrix formation. MIA3 is expressed in various tissues, excluding bone marrow and peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and regulates protein release from the ER, highlighting MIA3′s importance in protein trafficking and secretion. MIA3 gene is located on human chromosome 1, which spans 260 million base pairs and contains over 3,000 genes, including many associated with various diseases such as familial adenomatous polyposis and multiple myeloma. Aberrations in chromosome 1 are frequently observed in several cancers, underscoring MIA3′s potential significance in oncogenic processes.
