Anti-MHC class II Antibody (Y-Ae) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b (lambda light chain) MHC class II antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
raised against lipopolysaccharide activated spleen cells of mouse origin
MHC class II Antibody (Y-Ae) is recommended for detection of splenic B cells expressing the I-Ab MHC class II molecules complexed to the 52-68 fragment of the α chain of I-E class II molecules (the Eα 52-68 peptide) of mouse origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and FCM
Anti-MHC class II Antibody (Y-Ae) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems

MHC class II Antibody (Y-Ae) is a high quality monoclonal MHC class II antibody (also designated MHC class II antibody) suitable for the detection of the MHC class II protein of mouse origin. MHC class II Antibody (Y-Ae) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-MHC class II antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-MHC class II antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, also designated human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules, are cell-surface receptors that bind foreign peptides and present them to T lymphocytes. MHC class I molecules consist of two polypeptide chains, an α or heavy chain and β-2-Microglobulin, a non-covalently associated protein. Cytotoxic T lymphocytes bind antigenic peptides presented by MHC class I molecules. Antigens that bind to MHC class I molecules are typically eight to ten residues in length and are stabilized in a peptide binding groove. MHC class II molecules are encoded by polymorphic MHC genes and consist of a non-covalent complex of an α and β chain. Helper T lymphocytes bind antigenic peptides presented by MHC class II molecules. MHC class II molecules bind 13-18 amino acid antigenic peptides. Accumu-lating in endosomal/lysosomal compartments and on the surface of B cells, HLA-DM and -DO molecules regulate binding of exogenous peptides to class II molecules (HLA-DR) by sustaining a conformation that favors peptide exchange. The differential structural properties of MHC class I and class II molecules account for their respective roles in activating different populations of T lymphocytes.
