SEE ALSO...

Mfn2 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mfn2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mfn2 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mfn2 protein, also known as mitochondrial fusion 2, plays a critical role in mitochondrial dynamics by mediating the fusion of mitochondria, which is essential for maintaining mitochondrial function and cellular energy homeostasis. This process is particularly important in tissues with high energy demands, such as heart and muscle, where Mfn2 is abundantly expressed. Proper functioning of Mfn2 is crucial for embryonic development and has been implicated in the pathobiology of various metabolic disorders, including obesity. Notably, Mfn2 interacts with other proteins involved in mitochondrial dynamics, such as Mfn1, and these interactions are vital for the formation of mitochondrial networks that support cellular metabolism. Understanding the role of Mfn2 and its interactions can provide insights into mitochondrial-related diseases and potential therapeutic targets.
