MFAP4 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MFAP4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MFAP4 (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MFAP4 protein plays a crucial role in the formation and stabilization of microfibrils, which are essential components of the extracellular matrix that provide structural support to tissues. These microfibrils can interact with elastin, influencing the mechanical properties of connective tissues. Proper functioning of MFAP4 is vital for maintaining the integrity of the extracellular matrix, and MFAP4 dysregulation has been implicated in various congenital disorders, including Smith-Magenis syndrome, where deletion of the MFAP4 gene has been observed in a significant number of patients. Understanding MFAP4′s role in microfibril assembly and interactions with other extracellular matrix components is important for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying connective tissue disorders and developing potential therapeutic strategies.
