SEE ALSO...

Met Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Met protein of human origin through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Met (D-4) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatility for different experimental needs. Met protein, a transmembrane receptor with intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity, plays a crucial role in cellular processes such as proliferation, survival, and migration, making Met (D-4) monoclonal antibody valuable in cancer biology and tissue regeneration research. Met protein is primarily located on the cell surface, where Met protein interacts with hepatocyte growth factor, a key regulator of liver regeneration and tissue repair. Dysregulation of Met signaling has been implicated in various malignancies, as overexpression of the c-Met oncogene is frequently observed in tumors, leading to enhanced tumor growth and metastasis. Understanding Met protein function and regulation is essential for developing targeted therapies in cancer treatment, highlighting anti-Met antibody (D-4) significance in research and clinical applications.

Does this antibody recognize the extracellular domain of c-MET? I need to use it for immunocytochemistry and IF.

Asked by: Ssteph
Thank you for your question. This antibody is specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 1375-1391 within a C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of Met of human origin. It is recommended and warrantied for immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence, so it would be a great choice for this use.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514148 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
