Menin Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Menin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Menin antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Menin, also known as multiple endocrine neoplasia I, MEN1, MEAI, or SCG2, functions as a crucial nuclear tumor suppressor, and mutations are implicated in multiple endocrine neoplasia type I (MEN1). Menin plays a significant role in regulating gene transcription through covalent histone modifications, which are essential for cellular differentiation. Menin interacts with the TGFβ/Smad3 signaling pathway in osteoblasts, where Menin negatively regulates the transcriptional activities of BMP2/Smad1/5 and Runx2, thereby inhibiting late-stage differentiation. This regulatory function is vital for maintaining proper bone development and homeostasis. Menin influences the expression of insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) by modulating promoter activity, highlighting Menin′s role in growth factor signaling. Ectopic overexpression of Menin has been shown to induce apoptosis in murine embryonic fibroblasts in a Bax/Bak-dependent manner, further underscoring Menin′s importance in cellular regulation. Alternative splicing of Menin mRNA results in multiple variants, with five identified variants affecting the 5′ untranslated region, which may have implications for functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms.
