MDMX Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MDMX in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MDMX plays a crucial role in regulating p53 protein stability, a key tumor suppressor involved in cell cycle control and apoptosis. By inhibiting MDM2-mediated degradation of p53, MDMX ensures p53 levels remain sufficient to respond to cellular stress and DNA damage, thereby preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. The interaction between MDMX and p53 is particularly important in cancer, as alterations in MDMX expression can lead to dysregulation of p53 activity, contributing to the development of various malignancies. Additionally, MDMX binds to p73, another member of the p53 family, enhancing p73 stability and function, which further underscores MDMX significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
