SEE ALSO...

MCT4 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect Monocarboxylate Transporter 4 (MCT4) across mouse, rat, and human species using various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MCT4 antibody (F-10) targets amino acids 376-465 within the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of human MCT4, ensuring precise binding and reliable results. MCT4 is a member of the solute carrier 16A (SLC16A) family of proteins, and plays a critical role in cellular metabolism by facilitating the transport of lactate and other monocarboxylates out of cells, which is essential for maintaining intracellular pH and allowing continued glycolysis, especially under anaerobic conditions. This function is particularly important in highly glycolytic tissues such as skeletal muscle and in tumor cells, where MCT4 helps manage increased lactate production associated with the Warburg effect, thereby supporting rapid cell proliferation and survival in hypoxic environments. By effectively exporting lactate, MCT4 contributes to metabolic flexibility of cancer cells, making MCT4 a key target for cancer research and potential therapeutic interventions. Anti-MCT4 antibody (F-10) is available in non-conjugated form as well as various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatile options for diverse experimental needs. MCT4 monoclonal antibody (F-10) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways involving MCT4, disease progression, and potential biomarker or therapeutic applications.

I am using MCT4 (F-10): sc-376101 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

It was a little smeary at higher molecular weight but it was cleaner at lower molecular weights until the band which was pretty well defined.
