MCT2 Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 light chain antibody that detects MCT2 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCT2, a member of the monocarboxylate transporter family, plays a crucial role in the transport of lactate and other monocarboxylates across cell membranes, which is vital for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis. MCT2 is predominantly expressed in the liver and testis, where MCT2 facilitates the uptake of lactate produced during glycolysis, thereby supporting metabolic processes essential for energy production and cellular function. The proper functioning of MCT2 is particularly important in tissues with high metabolic demands, as MCT2 helps regulate the intracellular concentration of lactate and prevents acidosis, which can impair cellular activities. Anti-MCT2 antibody (B-10) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways, cellular respiration, and the physiological roles of lactate transport in various biological contexts.
