    SEE ALSO...

MCT11 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MCT11 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCT11 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MCT11, also known as SLC16A11, is a member of the monocarboxylate transporter family, which plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by facilitating the transport of monocarboxylates such as lactate and pyruvate across the plasma membrane. This transport is vital for maintaining cellular energy levels, particularly during anaerobic respiration when lactic acid accumulates as a byproduct of glycolysis. MCT11 is characterized by its 10-12 transmembrane helical domains, with both the amino and carboxy termini located in the cytoplasm, allowing MCT11 to function effectively as a proton-linked transporter. By regulating lactate levels within the cell, MCT11 helps prevent a drop in intracellular pH, thereby ensuring that glycolysis can continue efficiently, which is essential for ATP production and overall cellular function.
