MCT1 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCT1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCT1 (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MCT1, also known as Monocarboxylate transporter 1 or SLC16A1, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by facilitating the transport of monocarboxylates such as lactate and pyruvate across the plasma membrane. This transport is vital for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis, particularly during anaerobic glycolysis, where lactic acid accumulates and can lead to a decrease in intracellular pH, ultimately inhibiting glycolysis if not efficiently exported. MCT1 is predominantly expressed in tumor cells and erythrocytes, making MCT1 a key player in cancer metabolism and a potential target for therapeutic interventions. MCT1′s structure, characterized by 10-12 transmembrane helices with both the amino and carboxy termini located in the cytoplasm, is essential for function as a proton symporter, allowing selective transport of L-lactate. Understanding MCT1 dynamics and interactions with other proteins in the monocarboxylate transporter family can provide insights into metabolic regulation and the development of metabolic disorders.

Would this work on pig tissue?

Asked by: caldma02
Than you for your question. sc-365501 MCT1 (H-1) is recommended for human samples . There is a 70%homology in pig. We recommend a specie if the homology is 95%or higher.

dose it fully work with mouse sample for WB? if so, I'm going to WB with skeletal muscle and hippocampus of mouse.

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. BLAST results show very low homology between the epitope sequence of the antibody and the mouse target. We do not recommend using this antibody with mouse samples. Hello, does this antibody cross-react with other species other than mouse? I am specifically interested in staining canine and/or feline samples. Thanks!

Asked by: mdm82
Thank you for your question. MCT1 Antibody (H-1) is recommended for detection of MCT1 of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. It has not yet been tested for its reactivity with canine or feline cells or tissues and currently there is no published data for this use, so we cannot say whether or not the antibody would cross-react with such samples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 特異性や感度の面で他社製品よりも優れていると思いますwestern blottingとIFで使用しましたが良好なデータが得られました。

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked for mouse but not human cell lineI used a different antibody with these cell lines and it only detected the human protein. The Santa Cruz one, however, seems to pick up the mouse protein but not the human.
