MCP-1 Antibody (5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MCP-1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCP-1, also known as CCL2, plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the recruitment of monocytes to sites of inflammation, which is vital for effective immune surveillance and tissue repair. This chemokine is primarily produced by activated T lymphocytes and various other cell types in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines like interleukin-1, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and interferon-gamma. The ability of MCP-1 to attract monocytes is particularly important during infection and inflammatory processes, as MCP-1 facilitates the accumulation of immune cells at the site of injury or infection, thereby enhancing the body′s ability to combat pathogens.
