SEE ALSO...

MCM6 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MCM6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM6 (H-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) family of proteins, which includes MCM2, MCM3, MCM4, MCM5, MCM6, and MCM7, plays a crucial role in regulating DNA replication, ensuring that replication occurs only once during the cell cycle. MCM6 is essential for forming the MCM2-7 complex, which acts as a helicase during DNA unwinding, a critical step for DNA replication. Proper functioning of MCM6 maintains genomic stability, as any dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and contribute to oncogenesis. MCM6 undergoes various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which influences activity and interactions with other proteins, thereby impacting overall regulation of the cell cycle. Expression of MCM proteins, including MCM6, increases during cell growth, peaking at the transition from G1 to S phase, and remains tightly regulated by E2F transcription factors and protein kinases that ensure cells maintain their post-replicative state.
