MCM6 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MCM6 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM6, a member of the mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) protein family, plays a crucial role in the regulation of DNA replication, ensuring that DNA is replicated only once during each cell cycle. This regulation is vital for maintaining genomic stability, as improper replication can lead to mutations and cancer. MCM6, along with MCM2, MCM3, MCM4, MCM5, and MCM7, forms a complex that exhibits helicase activity, essential for unwinding double-stranded DNA during replication. MCM6 is primarily located in the nucleus, where MCM6 is involved in the formation of the pre-replicative complex, a critical step in the initiation of DNA synthesis. MCM6 expression is tightly regulated throughout the cell cycle, peaking during the transition from the G1 to S phase, which highlights MCM6′s importance in cell proliferation and response to cellular growth signals. MCM6 interacts with various protein kinases and transcription factors, further underscoring MCM6′s role in the intricate network of cellular processes that govern DNA replication and cell cycle progression.
