    SEE ALSO...

Matriptase-2 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Matriptase-2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Matriptase-2 antibody (H-1) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Matriptase-2, also known as TMPRSS6, is a type II transmembrane serine protease that plays a crucial role in liver matrix remodeling and hepcidin expression regulation, vital for systemic iron homeostasis. Matriptase-2 is located on the cell surface, featuring a membrane-anchored extracellular C-terminus and cytoplasmic N-terminus, significant for proteolytic processing and signaling pathways. Matriptase-2 activates various signaling cascades influencing iron metabolism, and dysregulation can lead to iron-refractory iron deficiency anemia (IRIDA). Matriptase-2 interacts with transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1), highlighting importance in iron transport and cellular uptake. Elevated Matriptase-2 expression has been observed in K-RAS G12C type lung adenocarcinoma compared to normal tissue, indicating potential roles in cancer biology. TMPRSS6 gene polymorphisms are associated with IRIDA development, underscoring clinical relevance in hematological disorders. Matriptase-2 suppresses prostate cancer cell migration by modulating epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, making this protein a significant therapeutic target.
