    SEE ALSO...

MAT II Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MAT IIα in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAT II (F-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Methionine adenosyltransferase (MAT) plays a crucial role in the synthesis of S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet), a key methyl donor involved in numerous biological processes, including methylation of DNA, proteins, and lipids. MAT is encoded by two distinct genes, MAT1A and MAT2A, which produce liver-specific and non-liver-specific forms of MAT, respectively. The liver-specific MAT I/III isoform is essential for maintaining normal liver function, and MAT I/III inactivation is linked to severe liver diseases such as cirrhosis. Furthermore, MAT1A expression is associated with a differentiated liver cell phenotype, while MAT2A expression indicates a dedifferentiated state, often observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Notably, the transition from MAT1A to MAT2A expression in HCC is driven by inflammatory signals such as NF-κB and TNFα, promoting cancer cell proliferation and highlighting MAT IIα′s importance in both liver health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398917 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
