Maspin Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects maspin in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Maspin is a member of the serpin family, functioning primarily as a serine protease inhibitor, and plays a crucial role in regulating cell motility and invasion, particularly in cancer. Maspin′s presence in the extracellular matrix and at the plasma membrane is vital, as anti-maspin antibody (E-10) helps reveal how maspin inhibits invasive properties of breast and prostate cancer cells, contributing to tumor suppression. Maspin expression typically occurs in normal mammary and prostate epithelial cells but is often down-regulated or absent in various tumor cell lines, indicating potential as a biomarker for cancer progression. Despite expression loss in tumor cells, no significant structural alterations in maspin genes have been identified, suggesting epigenetic factors may influence regulation. Maspin (E-10) antibody serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating cancer invasion and metastasis mechanisms, providing insights into therapeutic potential in cancer treatment.
