MAP LC3β Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody designed to detect MAP LC3β, also known as LC3B or MAP1LC3B, and its isoform MAP LC3β2 across multiple species including mouse, rat, and human through various applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAP LC3β monoclonal antibody (G-2) targets the N-terminal epitope comprising amino acids 1-50 of the human MAP LC3β protein, ensuring robust recognition of MAP LC3β in both cytosolic and membrane-bound forms, LC3-I and LC3-II respectively. MAP LC3β (G-2) antibody recognizes a critical component of the microtubule-associated proteins involved in regulating microtubule stability, which is essential for neuronal development and maintaining the balance between neuronal plasticity and rigidity. Additionally, MAP LC3β plays a vital role in autophagy, a process necessary for cellular homeostasis, by associating with autophagosome membranes during the formation of autophagosomal vacuoles. MAP LC3β also enhances fibronectin mRNA translation in ductus arteriosus cells by interacting with ribosomes and facilitating mRNA sorting and translation. Expression of MAP LC3β is predominantly observed in the heart, testis, brain, and skeletal muscle, highlighting its significance in these tissues. Anti-MAP LC3β antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® derivatives, providing flexibility for diverse experimental requirements.
