MAGE-C1 Antibody (CT7-33) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MAGE-C1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. MAGE-C1 (CT7-33) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family, to which MAGE-C1 belongs, is known for its role in eliciting immune responses against tumors, as these antigens are recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes. MAGE-C1, also referred to as CT7, is particularly significant due to expression in multiple myeloma, where MAGE-C1 correlates with plasma-cell proliferation, highlighting potential as a biomarker for this malignancy. MAGE-C1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus of tumor cells, which is crucial for function in tumor rejection and immune evasion. Understanding MAGE-C1 cellular localization is important, as this knowledge may influence the development of targeted therapies aimed at enhancing immune recognition of cancer cells. Notably, MAGE-C1 is expressed in various tumors but remains absent in normal tissues, except for the testis and placenta, making MAGE-C1 a promising target for cancer immunotherapy.

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, MAGE-C1 (CT7-33): sc-53868 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
