MAGE Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAGE (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAGE proteins play a crucial role in cancer immunotherapy due to their expression in tumors while being largely absent in normal tissues, with the notable exceptions of the testis and placenta. MAGE proteins are recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes, making MAGE monoclonal antibodies (F-4) potential tools for therapeutic interventions aimed at eliciting an immune response against cancer cells. MAGE proteins are encoded by genes primarily expressed in various tumors, and this tumor-specific expression pattern underscores the importance of anti-MAGE antibodies (F-4) in developing cancer vaccines and other immunotherapeutic strategies. Despite extensive research on MAGE genes in tumor contexts, precise functions in normal physiological processes remain largely elusive, highlighting the need for further investigation into MAGE protein roles and potential as biomarkers in cancer diagnostics and treatment.
